A few weeks ago, upon Laura’s recommendation, I acquired a dusty, somewhat dog-eared copy of The Shadow of the Wind for the hefty price of $1 at the Book Barn in Niantic, Connecticut. Looking back, I could not have purchased this book from a more appropriate place. It was almost as if it had “been waiting for me” all of this time.
What a gorgeous novel.
This is the first book in a very long time that has kept me up all night. However, as much as I have enjoyed reading it, I know I cannot keep it. This book has a very restless spirit, and I understand that it had to keep moving. So I have handed my copy over to the famous, historical shelves of the Shakespeare and Company Bookstore, the perfect place for it wait until it is discovered by its next reader.
